SAS Organic Fine Silver Jewelry

ONE Small Organic Initial. Something About Silver.
Looking for that extra special necklace to add to your (or someone else’s) jewelry wardrobe? Why not select a hand-made, one of a kind necklace from the Something About Silver organic fine silver line.

While any of the silver jewelry pieces in the SAS collection can become a beloved signature item that you will cherish for a lifetime, the necklaces featured in the organic fine silver line take it up a notch! These pieces are created with fine silver (99.9% pure silver) as opposed to sterling silver (92.5%). They are also thicker and contain much more silver! And if that weren’t enough, some come paired with your choice of natural, gem quality stones that are expertly hand-cut in India. Of course, you can always customize any of the pieces by adding additional gemstones!

I Love You More Pendant. Something About Silver.
The jewelry in the organic fine silver line are extremely labor intensive. Each charm is sculpted from fine silver clay, sanded, fired in a kiln, cooled, sanded by hand again, and then given an oxidized finish to create an antique look. The end result is a one-of-a-kind artsy, rustic, yet whimsical piece of fine jewelry for you to enjoy each and every day! Added bonus: pieces in the organic fine silver line are created from recycled silver, making your necklace one more way you can go green!

March Birthstone: Aquamarine

Heart Birthstone Pendant. Something About Silver.
For all of you March babies out there (and those of you purchasing jewelry gifts for March babies), the official birthstone for March is Aquamarine. This dreamy blue stone evokes thoughts of serene ocean waters and clear blue skies.

Derived from the Roman words Aqua (water) and mare (sea), this stone has a rich history of being prized by cultures across the globe. Ancient Romans believed that Aquamarine was sacred to their god of the sea, Neptune. The gems were said to have fallen from the jewel boxes of sirens and washed onto shore. Several ancient civilizations believed in the healing power of the gemstone and used it to treat a myriad of illnesses.

Worn as a talisman by early sailors, Aquamarine is still considered a lucky stone for people seeking protection while at sea. Aquamarine is said to promote feelings of sympathy, trust, harmony, and friendship. Folklore also suggests its wearer will have a happy marriage.

The perfect combination: jewelry and cupcakes

Spring Cupcake Baskets. Photo courtesy of Betty Crocker website.
Yesterday’s blog post about spring gifting opportunities (which personalized jewelry would be perfect for) had me thinking about other things that go perfectly with spring festivities. In a word, cupcakes. Those perfectly portioned sweet treats that we never get too old for, cupcakes are pretty much perfect topped off with plain frosting. But how about taking it up a notch?

While searching the internet for spring cupcake ideas, I happened upon the Betty Crocker site, which has unique cupcake creations for just about any occasion. From festive spring baskets, to oh-so-cute bunnies and chicks, to chic lemon and strawberry crème, there is a cupcake design and flavor for everyone.

The only thing better than giving that special someone stylishly handmade cupcakes? Gifting them a piece of whimsical, handmade jewelry to go with their cupcakes, of course! The ultimate gift experience: pick out a unique jewelry gift on the Something About Silver website, and then create the spring cupcakes that coordinate best with the jewelry. Anyone would be happy with such a thoughtful, customized present!

What’s your favorite kind of cupcake? Do you have a must-have food item for your spring events?
